Sidmouth 10km – Sunday 1 November 2026
Distance: 10 km
Difficulty: Moderate
A much-loved community event, the Sidmouth 10km follows the seafront and nearby lanes, combining sea views, modest hills and a supportive local crowd. It’s ideal for first-time racers or anyone chasing a relaxed personal best. Celebrate afterwards with a drink on the terrace at Dukes Seaside Inn, overlooking the sea.
Exeter City Half Marathon – February 2026
Distance: 13.1 miles
Difficulty: Moderate
A fast, flat route along the River Exe, the Exeter City Half Marathon is perfect for PB attempts or spring marathon training. Sidmouth is just a short drive away, making it an excellent place to stay before or after race day. Recover by the sea at The Elizabeth, where coastal calm replaces race-day adrenaline.
The Grizzly, Seaton – March 2026
Distance: Approx. 20 miles
Difficulty: Very hard
Regarded as one of the toughest off-road races in the UK, The Grizzly is not for the faint-hearted. Expect shingle beaches, bogs, hills and open countryside. Climb South West – Sid Valley Ring Half Marathon
Saturday 9 May 2026
This trail-style half marathon follows the Sid Valley Ring, weaving through lanes, woodland and open countryside before a thrilling downhill finish back into Sidmouth. Expect steep climbs, varied terrain and classic East Devon scenery.
Day 3 – Recovery, Sidmouth-style
After race day, Sidmouth is made for recovery. Wander sections of the Jurassic Coast, paddleboard straight off the beach or enjoy gentler walks towards Beer, Budleigh Salterton or Branscombe.
